Music

“Where words leave off, music begins.”
― Heinrich Heine

Welcome to “Music at Lakeside Presbyterian Church!” My name is Mark Aliapoulios, the director of Music Ministries. It has been my joy and pleasure to direct the Music Program in this wonderful church family since the fall of 2006.  The Psalmist records: “I will sing to the Lord as long as I live; I will sing praise to my God while I have being.” (Psalm 104:33) and that is our focus.  I love sharing my gifts with this congregation, so that together we can raise our adoration and praise to the very throne of God’s Grace.

Choirs

Mark Aliapoulios started as Director Musical Ministries in October 2006, with Kimberlee Aliapoulios leading our bell choir and children's choir. Mark has kept the outstanding musical tradition of Lakeside alive. He has led the choir and congregation with moving music each Sunday, often accompanied by guest instrumentalists on the piano, French horn, trumpet, flute, cello and violin.

Lakeside Presbyterian's Choir

The Chancel Choirs come to each worship experience praying to inspire our Lakeside Congregation beyond the spoken word to the melodic sounds of singing voices and the instrumental notes of music. Our choir consists of many generations and ranges from professional musicians to college students to folks who just like to sing their praise to the Lord.

We would love to have you join us if you, too, want to sing to move the hearts of people by bringing God's word to them through music. We currently rehearse before the service at 9:30 a.m. on Sundays. Please come give our sanctuary choir a chance to lift your own heart and those of the congregation as we joyfully lift our voices to the Lord in worship.

I want to encourage you to come and join in our worship experience and see how the music is integrated into the scriptural theme of the entire Worship experience. If you then would like to explore joining our choir, please do not hesitate to let me know as we have a place for you!

Church reformer Martin Luther said: “Beautiful music is the art of the prophets that can calm the agitations of the soul; it is one of the most magnificent and delightful presents God has given us.” I agree, and I so look forward to meeting you and together presenting music that will inspire your soul.
